MOTHERS’ UNION is a Christian mission charity seeking to support families worldwide.  The support of families is greater than ever, in over 80 countries with 4 million members worldwide sharing a vision to bring about a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships.

MOTHERS’ UNION OBJECTIVES

To promote and support married life

To encourage parents in their role to develop the faith of their children

To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service.

To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children

To help those whose family life has met with adversity

Our local group has enjoyed talks from various MU speakers, such as updates of members work in the Detainee Centre’s at Gatwick airport and Away From It All Caravan Projects, demonstration and work of the Prayer Shawl Ministry and meditational meetings focusing on prayer.

We come together during the year for fellowship and sociable activities, enjoying meal celebrations and outings of various forms.

Our group fund raises to support the Parish and Mothers’ Union charities.

Each year we invite various groups from the local area to join us in our Advent and Carol Service.

Membership is open to anyone, male, female, single or married, providing you have been baptized as a Christian and support our aims and objectives.

Loving Lord

We thank you for your love so freely given to us all.

We pray for families around the world.

Bless the work of the Mothers’ Union

as we seek to share your love

through the encouragement, strengthening and support

of marriage and family life.

Empowered by your Spirit,

may we be united in prayer and worship,

and in love and service

reach out as your hands across the world.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen
